Dr. Srinivasan who is otherwise known as Powerstar was arrested earlier this afternoon for alleged fraud. Reports say that the actor has invited investors to pump money into his ventures and is now unable to repay them according to the proposed terms. It is reported that Power Star is currently being detained and interrogated at the Kilpauk police station.
A complaint of ‘money fraud’ to the tune of as many as Rs.10 lakhs has been filed against ‘Power star’ Dr. Srinivasan, who has been making news in the recent past for all the wrong reasons. In his late forties and with a face and physique which hardly qualify as a hero, Srinivasan is hell-bent on starring in films and ‘inflicting’ torture on the movie-goers with a slew of films lined up.
Ganesan, an individual hailing from the Bujangarao Street in Chennai’s Saidapet, has filed a case with the city police commissioner in which he has said “Dr. Srinivasan was introduced to me through a mutual friend. During a casual chat, Srinivasan got to known of my professional losses and assured me that he would arrange for a loan of Rs.2 crores to resurrect my business.
He asked me to pay an advance amount of Rs.10 lakhs which I paid to him in the form of a Demand Draft in the name of ‘Baba Trading’, a company at Annanagar which is run by Srinivasan himself. Though many days have gone by, Srinivasan hasn’t yet got me the loan he promised he would.
He has also not returned the Rs.10 lakhs he took from me. I hereby request you to take action against Srinivasan to ensure that my money is returned to me,” the complaint said. The police are investigating into the matter and are also probing the possibility of this being a ‘false case’ foisted by Srinivasan himself in order to garner some’ publicity.
