Kollywood actors brush with the law


On screen, they have entertained us and kept us happily engaged. But in real life, a few Kollywood stars have displayed their unsavoury side. With Leena Maria Paul being booked recently, KT takes a look at those who’ve walked on the wrong side of law, and got themselves into trouble…

star was held on charges of cheating a businessman to the tune of 65 lakhs. This April, the cops came knocking again — for a cheque bounce case — and currently, Srinivasan is cooling his heels in the jail at Puzhal.

This Mollywood actress was recently booked by the Delhi police for conspiracy and fraud. Along with her fugitive live-in partner, she is reportedly wanted in several cheating cases, including a 19-crore fraud allegedly pulled on a bank in Tamil Nadu, using forged documents.

Salman’s Mental heroine was in the news recently as cops were hunting for her over an attempted abduction of a 15-yearold girl. It was reported that the actress tried to kidnap the girl who had rebuffed her cousin Naved Khan’s advances. Later, denying the allegations, the
actress said, “It is not true that I wanted to kidnap a minor girl.”

His comedy scenes with Vadivelu have tickled the funny bone of audiences here, but things got ugly when the latter reportedly filed a complaint against Singamuthu alleging that he had cheated him in connection with purchase of land. Apparently, Singamuthu had forged some documents and this drew Vadivelu’s ire.
