The shooting of Yaavarum Nalam director Vikram Kumar’s Manam is on in full swing in Hyderabad. The film, starring the three generations of Akkineni family members — Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya — along with Samantha and Shriya, was launched recently.
Vikram says, “‘Manam’ in Telugu means ‘we’. This title suited the concept of the film and so, we changed the title to Manam from Thrayam. This will be a fun-filled family entertainer. Nagswara Rao gaaru, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya play grandfather, father and son in the film.”
It was recently reported that Rekha, daughter of Kadhal Mannan Gemini Ganesan, was approached to play an important role in the film. But the spokesperson of the production house denies the reports, saying, “Until now, Rekha has not been approached. The shooting has already begun and the casting is in place.”
We hear the team is considering making the film in Tamil as well, as initially planned.
