Director Atlee’s debut D film, Raja Rani, which released worldwide this week, has garnered positive reviews from quite a few notable heads in the film industry. After being assistant director on Shankar’s Endhiran, Atlee has come a long way, his film Raja Rani impressing his young audiences, and his pals in the industry believing that he is one person who can make a mark and create his own space in a competitive industry .
“Just before the movie released, I felt like a 12th standard student, who has just completed his board exam and is waiting for the result. But the next day, I felt like I had come first in the state. It’s all because of the audience out there, who have accepted me and received me well, so I believe that I will continue to give my best to this industry,“ says Atlee, who is currently basking in the success of his film. When asked about his next venture, he says, “Things will happen very soon as I am working on a script. But right now, I am tasting my success and wish to do that for a few days.“
One of the best moments that he shares with KT is that during the screening of the first show of his film, Raja Rani, at Sathyam Cinemas, an expectant couple came out of the theatre with tears in their eyes.
Atlee is still waiting to hear from Shankar, who has been busy with his shoot, but he has been delighted with Simbu, Karthi and a few other actors calling him to praise the film.
