There were days when umpteen numbers of films were released for Deepavali. But now a day’s even two or three films are struggling for release. This Deepavali many of the films were planned for releases. But now it seems only two films will celebrate the festival of lights. Aegan a remake of the Hindi block buster Mein Ho Naa starring Ajith and Nayanthara will hit the screens. This film has been directed Raju Sundaram and produced by Ayngaran International. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed mind blowing tunes which have already become a hit. Seval is the other film due to hit the screens on the D day has all the commercial ingredients. This film directed by Hari has Bharath, Poonam Bajwa, Simran, Vadivelu, Rajesh, Shobana, Y.G. Mahendran and Manobala in the cast. Produced by Jinna Creations, the film brings for the first time Hari and Bharath together.
This will also be a landmark film for Simran, who gets to play her first meaty role after her marriage and motherhood. V Prakash Kumar has done a commendable job in composing the music. Important film which has missed this race is Gowtham Menon’s Vaarnam Aayiram. This biopic will be released on November 14th. The delay of the film is attributed to distribution problems. The slow sale of the rights is the reason for the delay. The Kerala distributor has made it clear he will release the film only two weeks after the release of the Malayalam mega multi-starrer Twenty:20, opening on October 30.
