A Dull Box Office scenario for Tamil Films

Kollywood Today has been bringing you the best updates of box office on the opening weekend. Perhaps, previous week had some interesting releases like Nadodigal, Vaalmiki, New York and Terminator Salvation. But this weekend seems to be quite contrastive with no big releases.

Lyricist Pa. Vijay starrer ‘Gnyabagangal’ hasn’t received warm welcome from the audiences and it’s just a mediocre.

Precisely, other films ‘Nee Unnai Arindhal’, ‘Pollachi Maapilai’, ‘Unnai Kan Thedithu’ and ‘Sirithal Rasipen’ have witnessed a complete washout in Chennai.

Telugu Movie ‘Oye’ with Siddarth and Baby Shamili had some good expectations with Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring music. Debutant Anand however doesn’t brim with an interesting screenplay that stops the film halfway from striking gold.

Hindi Film ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles had mounted us with more expectations and it’s really pathetic movie although it carried more colorful highlights.

Audiences Ratings:

Gnyabagangal – 2/5

Other Tamil Films – 0.5/5

Kambakkht Ishq – 2.5/5

Oye – 3/5

Let’s hope the forthcoming release July 10- Vaamanan, Indira Vizha, Engal Asan, Munnar, Vaigai has some interesting results.
